Laguna de Santa Rosa Community Bioblitz

Tue, September 8, 2020, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join the Laguna Foundation and Sonoma County Ag + Open Space for our first community-wide bioblitz of the Laguna de Santa Rosa Watershed during California Biodiversity Week!

Participants will use the app iNaturalist to contribute observations of plants and animals spotted while exploring around the Laguna between September 5 and 13.

Not sure how to use iNaturalist, where to find the watershed boundaries, or how to get started? The introductory webinar on Tuesday, September 8 will give you all the details on how to use the app and participate safely during the pandemic, as well as a fun preview into the biodiversity found throughout the Laguna. Register now to receive information on how to contribute to the Laguna de Santa Rosa Biodiversity Week iNaturalist project, attend the webinar, and receive exciting results from the data collected throughout the week.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not an in-person event. Participants will contribute observations for the Community Bioblitz on their own time throughout the week with guidance from the Laguna Foundation. This event is a part of the state-wide California Biodiversity Week, a part of the new California Biodiversity Initiative.

Thank you to our partners at Ag + Open Space, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the California Academy of Science for support for this event.

This is a free event! There is no charge for this event, which is made possible by the voters of Sonoma County who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.
