Want to learn more about the fungi and mushrooms around you? Join us for a deep dive into their bizarre, beautiful and bountiful world. We will start the day with a brief introduction to mycology (the study of fungi) and then walk about the botanical reserve and discuss the ecological roles, edibility, toxicity, medicinal uses and other aspects of the fungi that we find. Mushroom explorations will happen light rain, or shine! Wear appropriate clothing for the weather. In the event of heavy rain in the forecast, call 707-823-6832 the evening before to find out if the walk will be cancelled and when it will be rescheduled. A second mushroom walk is scheduled on Thursday, January 25 and tickets for the rained out walk will be honored then.
