The annual PeaceRoots Summer Fest fundraiser is coming up on September 9th, from 12-8 pm at Ives Park in Sebastopol. Proceeds from the event go towards local and global causes including food banks, children’s education, food for kids, gardens projects, quilt donations, and more. The PeaceRoots mission is to create a peaceful, just, and sustainable world for future generations by emphasizing our common humanity, promoting non-violence, and reducing the root causes of war. The group was formed in the aftermath of 9/11 by current and former members of pioneering intentional community The Farm, and has actively supported initiatives that align with their values since 2001. Now a global network of diverse individuals, PeaceRoots fuels direct action in the real world by fundraising with partner organizations to provide grassroots support, volunteering, and networking. The goal is to continue improving the lives of many more people in need.
