Nothing pairs better with California’s wine country than music, especially when it’s set in Sonoma County’s most stunning performing arts center — The Green Music Center. This summer, the pianoSonoma Music Festival, offering a unique experience for participants and audiences alike, will return to Sonoma County’s Schroeder Hall at the Green Music Center July 21-August 3, 2019.

pianoSonoma is a music festival that brings together Artists in Residence (current conservatory music majors or recent graduates) and adult musicians to collaborate and perform in private and public concerts and community workshops across the United States. This intersection of Artists in Residence and adult participants creates a rich and vibrant experience for everyone.

“We are overjoyed to be celebrating our sixth year at Sonoma State University’s glorious Green Music Center,” said pianoSonoma Co-Founder and Artistic Director Jessica Shinn. “Our many returning Artists in Residence and participants look forward to their musical immersion in these stunning facilities. We are all especially looking forward to making music with our friends and colleagues from around the U.S., including some from the Bay Area and from Sonoma State University.”

Each year, the Festival brings together musicians from all walks of life to collaborate, perform, and deepen their artistry. This year’s Artists in Residence are from Boston, New York, Florida, and the San Francisco Bay Area, and include collaborations with musicians from the Santa Rosa Symphony and Sonoma State University’s music department. Founded by the artistic team of Jessica and Michael Shinn, pianoSonoma has become a spectacular summer festival with preeminent performers from across the United States.
VINO & VIBRATO CONCERT SERIES
The Vino & Vibrato Concert Series — which includes a wine tasting prior to each concert — is a quintessential California wine country experience. Each Tuesday and Thursday evening of the festival brings Vino & Vibrato concerts, with stirring works from Saint-Saëns and Shostakovich, to celebrated sets spanning Mozart to Muczynski.

The Tuesday evening events will begin with (new this year) pre-concert talks, entitled Artist Exchanges. All events include a wine tasting — featuring Cartograph Wines — on the patio alongside pianoSonoma Artists in Residence and Artistic Directors Jessica and Michael Shinn, culminating with a concert on the stage of Schroeder Hall with the artists and artistic directors.
