Canceled due to weather – Seasonal Gathering at Rancho Mark West

Sat, December 14, 2024, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

LandPaths and our friends at Ag & Open Space and the Friends of the Mark West Watershed invite you to join us for the annual Seasonal Celebration at Rancho Mark West! Relax with friends, new and old, and enjoy the forests and creeks of Rancho Mark West, just twenty minutes up the hill from Santa Rosa!
The celebration begins at 11am running until 3pm! Enjoy hikes around the preserve, wreath-making, music, and other family-friendly activities.
Make your very own seasonal wreath from beautiful trees, berries, and other materials found across the preserve! We’ll have hot cider and other warm beverages for everyone (bring your own mug!) and we’ll have crafting tables and lots of greenery from our preserves ready for you for making a seasonal wreath, door decoration, or ornaments. Plus, we’re bringing back the potluck this year! Please bring a favorite seasonal dish to share, if you like! And bring your own reusable utensils, plates, and cups to make this a very low-waste event.
And we’ll have some of our perfectly imperfect Charlie Brown Trees harvested from Riddell Preserve the weekend before to give away! First come, first served until the trees are gone. Please be sure to bring your own straps/ropes/plan for transporting them home from Rancho Mark West. These trees, Douglas firs, are from LandPaths’ Riddell Preserve, and they were cut down as it is necessary for the health of the forest.  While these are definitely NOT the manicured trees you might purchase at a commercial tree farm, they are filled with character and love!
All ages and abilities welcome! This event is free thanks to our wonderful partners. Pre-registration is required so we know how many wreath-making materials to bring. Please register above.
