Sonoma County Pride Parade – "Stonewall To Sonoma, A Heritage Of Love"

Sat, June 1, 2019, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fourth Street & Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa

Who doesn’t LOVE a parade? Our 32nd annual LGBT Pride parade, presented by Hansel Subaru will bring a smile to your lips and warmth to your heart. Fun for all ages. Following the Stonewall Uprising, the first “Gay Power” Parades were radical marches, which slowly evolved into the “Pride Celebrations” we see today. The Sonoma County Pride parade is a festive celebration with colorful floats, elaborate costumes and some zany sights you won’t soon forget.

Our parade is for the whole community and everyone is welcome. We invite you to join the parade or enjoy watching one of the greatest spectacles in the North Bay Area. There will be a special commemoration of the Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising during the parade. Details are secret, you’ll have to be there to find out!

Parade Grand Marshals:
Jim Obergefell: Supreme Court marriage equality plaintiff
Pat Kerrigan: With fires sweeping through Santa Rosa and Sonoma County, disrupting phone and
computer connections in many areas, many residents tried to turn to radio for desperately needed information on evacuation orders and the spread of flames. Most stations were knocked off the air by the fires, but KSRO broadcaster Pat Kerrigan and her colleagues stayed on the air for over 12 hours providing the only source of urgently needed information for thousands.

Parade Honored Guests:
Tom Schwedhelm: City of Santa Rosa Mayor
Rhiannon Jones: Miss Sonoma County
Gary (Buzz) Hermes: Advocate for LGBT seniors & host of Petaluma Health Center’s 8-week “Aging
Together with Pride” group.

Parade Judges:
Alvaris Duffis, MD
Sister Nova Nilla of the Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (Mike Bernard)
