Journey with us as we explore the many musical traditions and regional sounds of Spain.
♪ We begin with a ballet suite from Massenet’s opera Le Cid. Each of its seven movements is based on a particular Spanish regional dance.
♪ We feature local harpist, Chloe Tula, in Rodrigo’s famous Concierto de Aranjuez, inspired by the gardens at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, just south of Madrid.
♪ We complete our tour with Turina’s Sinfonia Sevillana, a portrait of his home city that displays Seville and its surroundings in a wide range of moods and musical tones.
