Experience a dynamic evening of music and collaboration as the Sonoma State University Concert Band joins forces with the Santa Rosa High School Symphonic Band for “Shared Spaces.” Guest composer Viet Cuong will be in residence, offering insight into his powerful and inventive works including Inland Ocean and Heart on Fire.
The night also features Cuong’s Concerto Grosso, performed by the TC4 Saxophone Quartet, alongside standout works by Amy Scurria, John Mackey, and Kevin Day. Santa Rosa High School’s ensemble, led by Timothy Decker, opens the evening with a diverse set, including Cuong’s Diamond Tide and the West Coast premiere of What Lies Within Us. Don’t miss soprano Bích-Vân Nguyễn and student soloists in a concert that bridges generations and communities. The evening concludes with a combined ensemble performance of Sousa’s The Invincible Eagle.
