Close out the academic year with a stunning showcase of artistic excellence in the second night of “Shared Spaces.” Sonoma State University’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Andy Collinsworth, will perform a sweeping lineup of works by guest composer Viet Cuong, including the evocative Evergreen, the lyrical Autumn Triptych featuring soprano Bích-Vân Nguyễn, and the exhilarating Second Nature with the TC4 Saxophone Quartet.
The concert also welcomes the Fresno City College Symphonic Band, directed by Elisha Wells, presenting powerful selections like Symphony No. 1 “Culloden” by Julie Giroux and Cuong’s Shared Spaces. The evening closes with a festive combined performance of Sousa’s The Pathfinder of Panama, capping a week of musical collaboration and creativity.
