The National Arts Drive in Sonoma County – NEW DATE

Sat, June 20, 2020, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The National Arts Drive is an online & offline grassroots movement and fundraising campaign to bring awareness and financial support to local artists on a national scale.

On June 20,  artists in cities across the U.S, Canada and Mexico are encouraged to display, perform and showcase their creativity from driveways, balconies, windows, stoops, front lawns, or participating local small businesses during a three-hour period.

Many Sonoma County galleries and individual artists will be participating.

Be sure to plan to see a performance of “Death Fog” at Santa Rosa Arts Center. Pesticides change the life of Farmer Gene in Death Fog. The play will be performed three times: 1:15p, 1:30p, 1:45p. Audience will be limited to accommodate standard social distancing guidelines. Sonoma County Actor David Gonzalez will portray Farmer Gene. The play, written by Sonoma County writer and artist Karen Pierce Gonzalez, is based upon a short story by the same name.

Community supporters are invited to drive, bike or walk their city blocks and rural roads to see, hear, and support the artists, performers, musicians, and designers living in their community from a safe distance.

The driving experience will be paired with a mobile website and interactive map where drivers can engage with the artist and support them from a distance through three main avenues:
• Like, follow and share their work via social media
• Donate directly to artists through their chosen mobile paysite
• Visit a participating artist’s online store or website for a future purchase

The event is being sponsored by RAW Artists, the world’s largest independent arts organization.

The National Arts Drive map will be available to the public and artists on “Drive Day”, Saturday, June 20, 2020. To participate, both artists and drivers must sign up at NationalArtsDrive.com
