Windsor Taco Fest on the Windsor Town Green!! Support your local vendors!!
The family-friendly event features tacos from 11 chefs, all competing to see who makes the best tacos, as judged by local celebrities.
The afternoon features live music, a beer, Margarita and wine garden, a craft market with goods from local artists and artisans, and a variety of Latinx treats including chamoy (a sweet, savory and spicy sauce made from a variety of pickled fruit spiced with chiles, and used in everything from drinks to chips and dips to shave ice), elote (grilled corn on the cob with a selection of toppings), and frozen treats like paletas (fruit popsicles), and, of course, churros.
Live music includes the popular youth band Razberry and Ranchera Music. DJ Flashback of Ozcat Radio (KBBF 89.1) will be live on location throughout the festival.
Lowrider cars will be parked and on display on Market Street; Taco Fest crowds are invited to browse cars on display and cast a vote to choose a “Crowd Favorite.”
Taco fans will need to buy tickets at the event ticket stand; tacos and treats will be purchased with tickets rather than cash. There are a limited number of taco tickets available; tickets go on sale at 4 p.m. and will be available until 7:30 pm or sellout, whichever comes first.
All proceeds from the Taco Fest and Lowrider Car Show will go to support the annual Dia de los Muertos Windsor festival and other Latinx cultural events in Windsor.
Tickets $35 include 6 taco tokens, 1 drink token, and the opportunity to vote for your favorite Taco Vendor. Drink token redeemable at Beer Garden (21+ only), or non-alcoholic beverage at The Real Chamoy. Lowrider & Classic Car Show, Youth Rock Band, and Ranchera (Regional Mexican, in Spanish) Group. No charge for admission, tickets are for Taco Contest.
