Jun. 12 -28: La Rondine at Mercury Theater
La Rondine is a tragicomic opera by Puccini about Magda, a Parisian courtesan who leaves her wealthy patron, Rambaldo, for a life of true love with a young man named Ruggero, a chance encounter at a nightclub. She disguises herself to meet Ruggero, and they elope to the French Riviera, but their idyllic life is shattered when her past catches up to them, forcing her to choose between her love and Ruggero’s social ruin.
